Aronia (Aronia melanocarpa) is a shrub native to much of southern Canada and the northeastern United States. It is self-fertile, highly adaptable, and produces dark berries with three times the antioxidant power of blueberries. They are astringent when eaten raw, but taste pleasant when prepared into preserves, pies, or sweetened tea.
They are often found in moist clearings, roadsides, and the bottoms of fields. As such, they can handle a wide variety of planting sites. That 'slightly too moist for anything else' portion of your land will likely support Aronia just fine. Just give it lots of light for maximum berry production.
